OVERVIEW
Lebanon’s economy has proven to be resilient in light
of the war spanning over a decade. Despite the mass destruction to
human and capital resources caused by recurring attacks and encroachments
by Israel, the Lebanese people have begun the reconstruction of their
country.
Under a reconstruction program called Horizon 2002,
the rebuilding of Lebanon has begun, with an estimated investment
of approximately $13 billion. The private sector is expected to finance
further projects that could total an additional $18 billion.
