OPPORTUNITIES FOR KOREAN BUSINESS

The Lebanese government is currently engaged in a 13-year (1995-2007) program for recovery and balanced development, which will provide ample opportunities for medium and long-term involvement in both the public and private sector.

International consultants have been invited to bid for consultation work in building LNG re-gasification plant. Several contractors have expressed interest in the project. The project is expected to cost approximately $450 million and will be carried out on a BOT basis with a 25-year concession. The current reconstruction programs that are underway in Lebanon provide numerous opportunities for Korean companies to take part in Lebanon’s reconstruction.

Other sectors also offer important openings for Korean firms, including water resources, hotels, and healthcare.
